Love 'em or hate 'em, beadhead flies for flyfishing work. An import from Europe, this style of fly can be incorporated into about any nymph and it is fair to say that in the past twenty-five years since they've been introduced into the US, they've withstood the test of time. The purist in me still cringes though.
I tie each of the metal beadheads with a few turns of lead which is then crammed up into it for a bit of added weight. |
